The Pearl/Wake Forest School of Medicine

This was taken from S. Blvd/277 bridge of the main tower of the Wake Forest School of Medicine. Eventually 18 floors/270'. It will be a nice addition to towers being built outside of I-277.

Whatever you can add would be greatly appreciated. I hope we can get more traction on this for Charlotte.

The Campbell (old Campbell's Nursery site) is coming along. Only 12 stories once completed but it's in a great location and stands out well.

Demolition has begun at 700 E Brooklyn Village Ave which will eventually be the first phase of the Brooklyn Village development. I'm not sure what is being built first but I've heard an office and apartment tower.

I'm sure that I'm in the minority, but I see it as unfortunate to tear a building down like that.

I'm not sure how i feel about this particular building. It's been out dated and an eyesore for many years. Normally i like keeping old structures and working them into the master plan but not sure it works in this case.

I think that it's good to have "dated" buildings. It adds to character. It sucks if everything is new and there is no history. I'm not sure how it's an eyesore either. It's ok to have examples of that Charlotte existed in the 60s, 70s and 80s.

I've never been to Charlotte the pictures of it remind me of Northern Virginia. Just tons and tons of midrise density next to a modern transit line surrounded by forested neighborhoods with lots of brick townhome complexes and then very low-density houses on narrow roads.

There’s similarities, especially with Southend, which has an urban walking trail with restaurants like what’d you find in DC or some N Virginia towns. Even places like Myers’s Park have similarities with neighborhoods outside of DC. The other part of the city has taller skyscrapers.
