Of the total rail lines, about 40 per cent of the route will be underground.

The total MRT3 contract cost could be about RM32.9 billion whereby the 20km underground portion would cost RM19.42 billion, while the 30km on the above ground rail would cost about RM13.5 billion.

Kim Lun to benefit from new infrastructure projects: HLIB

The company stand to benefit from some projects such as Mass Rapid Transit Line Three (MRT3), Johor Baru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS), Iskandar Malaysia Bus Rapid Transit (IMBRT), Sarawak Autonomous rail transit (ART) and Pan Borneo Highway (PBH) Sarawak Phase 2.

HLIB said with an order book standing at RM1.1 billion, Kimlun is targeting RM500 million worth of jobs in the financial year 2021 (FY21) which will be back-loaded as work secured year-to-date (YTD) is a mere RM4 million.

"An increasingly vibrant rebound in construction activity in Singapore for 2021 should further aid recovery.

"Management sounded confident in meeting its job guidance despite only managing RM4 million thus far," it said.

Meanwhile, HLIB said Kimlun's manufacturing order book currently stands at RM300 million.

The firm said the company's financial year 2020 (FY20) job win of RM230 million was surprisingly strong but the management is sticking to RM150-RM180 million guidance for FY21.

"Kimlun is a prime beneficiary of MRT3 rollout given that it has supplied MRT1 & 2 lines in the past (similar value of precast orders).

"While we believe MRT3 would be no different given a similar project value, annual earnings accretion would be significantly lower with a much longer construction period.

"On a slightly bleaker note, precast jobs for Singapore's Jurong Region Line (JRL) require setting up a plant in Singapore.

"Should jobs from the JRL materialise, Kimlun may consider debt or an equity placement for that purpose," it said.

HLIB increased its FY22 earnings target on Kimlun by 9.1 per cent after imputing higher contract replenishment and recalibrating depreciation assumptions.

"Our replenishment forecast for 2021 is 3-8 per cent higher than guidance and increased FY22 earnings by 9.1 per cent and introduced FY23 forecasts of RM42 million.

"We maintain a Hold rating with an unchanged target price of RM0.91 on Kimlun," it added.
