So I guess Jamie Dimon can watch his new building rise up.
They have the best view, and from now on will be looking up to see the top.
It’s really amazing. It seems like just yesterday we were watching the process of a pretty large tower being taken down. It’s already been surpassed by the new tower.
“Office buildings are our factories – whether for tech, creative or traditional industries we must continue to grow our modern factories to create new jobs,” said United States Senator Chuck Schumer.
My Aunt worked in that building in the 80's and 90's as a business consultant for Manny Hanny. She told me they were so strict on the dress code that if they were caught wearing shoes other than their dress shoes, they were reprimanded. I want to pop up there to see this and a few others but I don't know if it is safe there. Is it?

Finally got to see some graphics. One takeaway from this is that the height ranges from 1,388 ft to 1,390 ft, depending on where the measurement is taken. (1,388 from Park Avenue)
It's 1,450 ft (above sea level) to the top, with ground elevations ranging from 59 to 62 ft...

A construction worker was killed in a fall at the site of JPMorgan Chase’s in-progress headquarters in Midtown East.
The unidentified employee was working on the 12th floor at 270 Park Avenue, NBC New York reported. The Department of Buildings said the worker lost balance and plummeted through a hole 20 feet.
The worker — who was doing carpentry work and employed by Certified Interior — was pronounced dead at the scene, the DOB said in an emailed response to The Real Deal on Monday morning. Following the incident, construction was paused at the site and an investigation was launched.

Always sad to hear about these kinds of accidents. I don't think these construction/Ironworkers get the recognition they deserve working on these insanely tall projects on the daily.
This is going to be insanely cool. Giant skylights!
