This looks really nice despite its bulk.

Does it really have twelve stories of above-ground parking and three stories of below ground parking, one block from the busiest transit station in the southeastern US? This isn't an office building, it's a parking deck.

Outside of the parking podium, it's a nice-looking tower.

The ratio relatively low - around one-third of the parking ratio at Ponce City Market - but it's just so darn ugly. Why would CIM want blank walls facing their signature park? It's a public safely concern.

The ground floor will contain active use by zoning--

I saw that too. I'll believe it when I see dirt moving lol. I've been longing for something in that spot for 15+ years now.

Would be nice seeing 50 Allen, Rockefeller Group's tall building in midtown, and Centennial yards going up around the same time.

Yes. That is Austin's 46-story, 710' Republic tower. And, it has recently received construction financing.

But the rendering of 50 Allen appears new, adding to the intrigue ?

Not new, just the same as the Austin tower:

Austin building: https://www.dudapaine.com/portfolio_page/the-republic/

50 Ivan looks very similar by the same architecture firm: https://www.dudapaine.com/portfolio_...ty-ivan-allen/

Both towers, Austin and Atlanta, appear pretty similar and are @ 800.000 sf; Both are reported as in progress, whatever that means. But it would be good to see this significant building as it would definitely help link downtown and midtown,

The point is that the image stating that the project has obtained financing IS the Austin tower not 50 Allen Plaza. That project contains residential while 50 AP does not.

Not that it matters in an Atlanta forum, but the Austin tower is all office just like 50 AP.

Visited the city and took a walk through Midtown today! Here are the under-construction projects I saw:

Hannover West Peachtree

Spring St. at 10th St. (Facing South) with Hub on Campus to the Right

I also passed the Hadley, but I forgot to take pictures. Midtown's booming growth shows no signs of stopping!
