Lots more office space with SunTrust HQ leaving successful Super Bowl host ATL
An interesting twist, for sure. They have been encountering a lot of headwinds in NYC.

Interesting story about the Super Bowl and SunTrust

I attended a focus group late Summer/early fall last year and it was for SunTrust to get feedback on several Super Bowl ads they came up with.

One of them they were considering was going to feature an animated Penguin inside the Georgia Aquarium, in homage to their Atlanta/Georgia heritage.

I watched the Super Bowl in anticipation of seeing their ad, but it never aired. Now we know why.

To add to the completely unfounded rumor mill, Jeff Bezos was in town for a few days for the Super Bowl, as well.

Hard pass on Amazon, the hype, and all that comes with it. Atlanta doesn't need Amazon and their BS publicity stunt last year was just horrible.

Don't have a dog in the fight, but I agree with this. It's like 144 breweries were invited to determine the best beer in America.

Winners: Budweiser and Busch and they raked the remaining 142 breweries for the secret ingredients.

Budweiser=NYC and Busch=DC? Hmm....ok.

On another note, Kemp is still Georgia's governor, so don't expect Amazon to come a knock'in any time soon. They may indeed choose a third city, because they can rape more money from three cities than two cities (Nashville and DC)

No thanks to Amazon.

I'm scarred life from last year's shenanigans.

If you don't know why people hate Kemp, just do some research on the last election. The guy is the most crooked governor out there.

Northam's mistake was horribly dumb and it was 35-years ago, but I'd take his progressive stance on marijuana in this state any day.

Kemp is showing his race politics to this day, 2018 election, and by all accounts the results were questionable and the voting issues which are a true threat unlike Northam's stupidity, in historically black areas was clearly prevalent.

I wouldn't put anything past Amazon reconsidering their options and opting for ATL.

I actually think a large company like Amazon with the sway they could have downtown, they could do a lot for the infrastructure which is desperately needed. Did you see the report ATL was willing to do, they wanted to upgrade infrastructure a lot in this city, so I'd take the issues of Amazon with it.

Awesome news about N/S, (though i do see the flip side of celebrating Norfolk's loss) and the rest of our projects nearing their starts.
Yeah, it sucks. lol

If you look close, there's some irony in that photo...
Norfolk-Southern is leaving Norfolk to come to Atlanta and BB&T just swallowed Atlanta's own SunTrust bank. Carma? Who knows.

I don't know anything about Northam, but Cuomo is the kind of corrupt politician that attracts Bezos. More money can be shaken from the public purse. Liberals like Bezos however are scared s***less of hillybilly's like Kemp

Not really! BB&T is not headquarters nor will be moving its headquarters to Norfolk. So how can it be Karma, furthermore Atlanta job market is strong and plus people have being saying for years, that Suntrust was an attracted buy, and would be the next to go. Atlanta economy is so diverse, that it want miss a beat. Plus the Suntrust building when have no problem attracting new tenants.

It's more like we gain an HQ only to lose an HQ. We benifit from Norfolk's loss only to suffer a loss to Charlotte. That was more of the point I was making. The unintended irony in the photo that included a reference to Atlanta's gain and loss in a single photograph.

Only took a few Super Bowls to get it right.
