What a gorgeous building. By far my favorite going up in Chicago rn, with the added benefit that this building is the final 495 foot tall middle finger to every development blocking WLCO nitwit that torpedoed countless great, good (and some not so good) projects in the west loop over the past 20 years. This just goes to show you can do height and still remain "in character" with the neighborhood and while I'm not the biggest fan of homogenous designs designated by neighborhood (River North beige, West Loop brick and exposed "structural" elements, River Corridor blue, etc, etc) I still will forever get a smile on my face knowing somewhere out there, some WLCO busybody is clutching their pearls from the shadow cast by this monster, albeit from their now more than likely much more valuable condo.

This building is turning out pretty good. . . I like what they've done by using a classically decorative façade in a contextual way that's not offensively post-modern. . . if that makes any sense. . .

The overall effect is quite nice, I'll admit. The rhythm of the arched portions is really nice and they're proportioned well.

It's still an annoying design conceit to me -- and it's not artificial enough to be in on the joke -- but when viewed in a mental vacuum, I like it.

New renderings on Block Club including some interiors. That penthouse terrace is jaw-dropping. They're calling it "The Row."

I love that last shot.... It's fun to see how the views coming into downtown are slowly evolving as more highrises go up in the West Loop.

Sorry, didn't mean to post this photo in multiple threads.. but I'm unsure how to delete now. At least you can see those penthouse terrace at the top of 900 W. Randolph now.
