I don't have photos at the moment, but I just moved to Ann Arbor in the last month and have been spending a lot of time in Detroit for work and fun. It's great to finally see this project in person! The facade is truly beautiful—the quality of glass going in on the higher floors is superb, IMO. Photographs don't quite do it justice but I will try my best to capture it soon.

The Edition Hotel has been officially confirmed as the main tenant for the Hudson's Tower. It will be their first location in the Midwest...
Luxury hotel confirmed as main tenant of Hudson’s site development

Quote:
Bedrock LLC's website now lists the Edition Hotel as a main tenant of the $1.4 billion mixed-use project under construction at Woodward and Grand River avenues, marking the first public acknowledgement that the hotel flag by Ian Schrager, a co-founder of nightclub Studio 54 in New York City, is coming to Detroit.

An email was sent to Bedrock spokespeople seeking comment, as well as a representative for Edition Hotels on Monday morning. It’s not known when the reference to the Edition Hotel was added to Bedrock’s website. However, an archived version of the page from June 22 on Wayback Machine — the most recent posted date — makes no mention of the Edition Hotel.

Was doing some bored googling and found this article from last May about the Hudson tower by Boston Valley Terra Cotta. They have close up pictures of the mock-ups for the tower. They also did the facade for One Vanderbilt.

Looks pretty damn amazing.

Wow, the façade on both the tower and the mall look amazing. In he first pic from animatedmartian, it got me thinking about the potential for ice to form in the winter.

Watching from afar in St. Louis, this is shaping up to be quite something. The Block portion is already architecturally significant, and the tower looks to build on that. Can't wait to visit once it's fully complete.

I do question the decision to include running light strips up the length of the tower as the facade mockup shows. It could be a neat feature to include, but that caught me off guard a bit.

it's SHoP, it shouldn't be too much of a surprise.

The NCAA just announced that Detroit will host the 2027 men's college basketball Final Four. Ford Field last hosted the event in 2009, during a blizzard if memory serves. Hudson Tower will be complete by then and ready some excellent skyline shots and b-roll. Hopefully, Monroe Blocks can get rolling soon, too.
