The NY Times places to go (or whatever it's called this year) is not meant to be a list of hottest places to travel. It's always a collection of places off the beaten path mixed with more well known destinations. The well known destinations usually highlight some part of the city/place that is less well known for outsiders.

Like I get it, queens is a cultural melting pot, but I dont think the best way to represent queens is a picture of generic Mexican salsa.
