I believe we are in a serious situation that needs immediate attention and you make light of all the traumatized people of late?
I suppose no concern about Transit safety either.
A transit driver fled for his safety last night to avoid a stabbing.

I like the new slam poetry format this thread is going with.

That person might laugh today but weep & beg for an audience when they or a loved one faces a life to death situation.
My intention was to reafirm we are having more in numbers & increased severity of serious chaotic situations even in family fiendly locations mid day.
I think as a community we all need to react quickly and it likely begins and ends with our legal system.
People talk about the homeless..yes addressing that is important but they are not the ones committing most of these attacks.
Mostly Tweens & Teens.
Maybe make the parents responsible, maybe boot camp.
Doing nothing is not working.

I agree but don’t look for the court system for any answers as it’s a mess as well, old man Trudeau’s joke called the young offenders act managed to make things way worse, better for young offenders and those that represent them I guess!

It seems like The Forks is the location of choice for young punks to prove themselves to other young punks this summer. Assault someone at the Forks, get an instant reputation.

IMO at some point security at the Forks will be stepped up and the punks will choose another location to prove themselves.

It feels like I have been watching this thread for 500 years and all there is to report is a new shoe store at the Forks.

The architecture of these buildings better be incredible to make us wait this long.

**EDIT**
I did a check and this thread began in 2015.

I am pretty certain they were able to reconstruct all of Europe in less time following World War 2.

It took seven years but they had over $140 billion in today's dollars. Not sure what the budget is for the Forks project.

I personally don't think anything will happen to those parking lots unless the feds want to build a new museum. The clown running this city who is missing in action has no foresight.

I'm hope whoever gets in does.

I would be happy if we seen even Montreal style row house's there. Anything is better then parking lots.

Maybe if that stretch of Main on tbe other side of the tracks was done it wouldn't feel like a big wound on the city. But from above it's like it's a radioactive zone lol.

Truly. I recently took someone from a hotel downtown to the Forks. They couldn’t believe how wide Main was and that cars were just flying down the curb lane. We walked through Union Station which we both enjoyed and exited the other side in a parking lot. Not a great impression. It would be so nice to connect the Forks market to the rest of the downtown.

The Forks was buzzing when we arrived. Lots of activity.
