True, although the Riders 2011 year was nothing to write home about (5-13). So anything is possible.

Ctrl C + Ctrl V this comment for each year since Mike Kelly has been coach.

The Ottawa RedBlacks have plucked talented young receiver Wallace Miles and veteran Canadian fullback/linebacker James Green from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the first two rounds of the expansion draft.

Bombers coach adds Tracey to staff

New Winnipeg Blue Bombers head coach Mike O’Shea has added two faces to his staff, one familiar to fans, the other a long-time veteran of the Canadian college ranks.

The Bombers announced today that Pat Tracey is the new special teams coordinator while Markus Howell will remain the wide receivers coach.

We are now an unstoppable force in the CFL with these moves.
The Riders will now have to face the NEW dominant force in the West.

I don't even know what to think or say re: the Bombers anymore. They really lost my confidence over the last number of years. Especially last season... Alcoholic, I mean Wade Miller, hasn't proven anything yet.

I think Drew Willy will turnout to be another Stefan LeFors, Ryan Dinwiddie, Justin Goltz, should I continue? Glenn is old and got ran out of town once already. Would be a good mentor to Willy if he would come back. Really was looking forward to getting Burris in here to mentor Max Hall. But again, every one of these guys that are brought in show the same level of play on the field. Terrible. Maybe not 100% their fault with the O-line we have.

Hopefully things get turned around over the next couple years and one of these quarterback actually last.

So they've lost their defensive leader, and they never managed to sign the potential offensive leader they were looking for. The situation is getting pretty dire for the Bombers.

The Bombers are showing frightening signs of heading down the same road that the Ottawa Rough Riders did in the 80s and 90s... a series of brutal management blunders that go beyond the average ups and downs of a sports team, and start to actually erode the public's goodwill towards the franchise and put its continued existence in jeopardy. Now, it's obviously premature to say that the Bombers are under some kind of threat right now, but another two or three years of this and it might well be.

I've lost my goodwill, as much as it pains me to say it. Last season was tough. The stadium was nice, sure. It has it's faults.

Just the overall atmosphere got pretty weak as the season went on. Security were/are a bunch of asses. They are strong arming all the real fans into conforming with the "sit down and shut up" family attitude. It's the no fun zone down there, no doubt about that.

Buck Pierce didn’t stay retired very long.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers hired the former quarterback as their running backs coach.

Good news, regardless of what Winnipeger's feel his qualifications are in the coaching realm, I know, I want the BB to turn things around as much as the next person, but what can you say, wanted to stay in the Peg, says a lot.

It is a different perspective on the cost over runs by Paul Wiecek.

Quote:
But what isn't really up for debate is whether we Manitobans got a good deal in Investors Group Field, even at $207 million. Because if you look at the comparables -- and the two best ones would have to be new CFL stadiums going up in Hamilton and Regina -- there isn't much question we got great value for money in IGF. Yes, even at the newest higher price.
The comparisons go into detail in the article.
Don't mistake this post for the architect's lack of experience or some of the poor planning that has come to light.

Did we get the bang for our buck with comparibles.

It seems that the Mayor is trying to do a solid for another one of his property owning buddies and make him the City of Winnipeg rep on the board of the Bombers... What the hell is going on, I figured that the City of Winnipeg rep would be an actual employee of the City, not some dude who's lived here for a while, owns/manages a few rental properties and has a season ticket.

Let Jeff Rabb get elected as a public-at-large member, the City of Winnipeg rep should be an outspoken member of the public service...

The clean-up from the Joe Mack era continued at Investors Group Field Thursday morning with the release of yet another two Mack draft picks who washed out for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
