Greatest Canadian Brick-and-Mortar Skyscraper Thread

The title says it all. They sure don't build 'em like they used to. Let's give these lovely ladies the exposure they deserve!

This will be a short lived thread - I think you already posted every example we have in the country!

Probably all the notable ones. There are still a bunch of these types that tend to fade into the cityscape though: https://goo.gl/maps/41SUDD7ubPnYuccG9, or https://goo.gl/maps/zAwpaTSpG9x84FYc8, etc.

Actually here's a good one - the old Bank of Nova Scotia tower at King & Bay:

Does Robert Stern's 1 St. Thomas in Toronto count?

What about contemporary towers with an all-brick exterior?

If they can maintain the materials all the way through, then I'm looking forward to this one:

In Halifax the nicest one is the Dominion Public Building but it's hard to photograph since it's on such a narrow street:

In person it is imposing:

Halifax also has a number of old red brick highrise type buildings plus some newer ones built in a similar style. Bethune Building:

The "tower" addition to the left of the Nova Scotian Hotel:

Brick-clad highrises were common well into the 2000's (and this style was used for most institutional buildings from about 1990-2005). Juno Tower:

Lately some buildings have been built with preconstructed brick cladding panels with visible seam lines which, aesthetically, seems like a big step backwards.

In the contemporary ones the 628 St-Jacques should be quite interesting.
It would kinda fit in this category. But might be a stretch.

Great idea for a thread.

The Sun Tower (1912) Vancouver, has just had this green painted terracotta roof replaced.

Trois-Rivières' Ameau Building. I've always been jealous of it (from a Sherbrooke point of view; we don't have anything like it despite being a bigger city nowadays).

In person (Street View):

https://www.google.com/maps/@46.3426...7i13312!8i6656

Back when it was new:

Nowadays:

It's mostly vacant, some group had a project a few years ago but failed, here's a CBC article from five days ago about the fact that maybe someone might have a new project for it:

https://ici.radio-canada.ca/premiere...de-jean-boulet

Wonder how much it would sell for. It would certainly be my flagship building...

Another in Hamilton - Westinghouse Canada's old head office building, recently renovated and returned to office use. I posted about it in the underrated/underappreciated thread.

If only she were right downtown...
