Those can be reserved for the overhead shots of the stadium, haha.

Actually, Domain 2 or 3 or whatever it is called looks pretty great from inside the stadium, but I have given up trying to post photos so everyone will have to wait a couple months to experience it for themselves. Of course that view will disappear once Arena Tower is built.

I kid about the Domain skyline. It's certainly impressive for what it is and is only going to get better over time.

Drove by the stadium the other day, it looks great.

I hope we can warp speed some of the development around the stadium soon.

CapMetro's web page for McKalla station is up

https://capmetro.org/project-connect...plan/red-line/

(posted here instead of Transportation thread as it seemed more appropriate).

Nothing really new that I can see, but public outreach is a required step in the process.

I love it - except for the light-up soccer balls. Looks like a lamp I would have had in my bedroom as an 8-year-old.

Austin FC’s Q2 Stadium to host 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup matches
AUSTIN (KXAN) — It hasn’t even hosted a match and crews are putting the finishing touches on it, but soccer’s regional governing body already wants Q2 Stadium to host matches of its premier tournament.

The new home for Austin FC was selected as one of 11 host sites for the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup, a bi-annual tournament that features top national teams in North and Central America as well as the Caribbean. The tournament begins with a newly-added preliminary round July 2-6 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and then the 16-team tournament begins July 10 with the championship match Aug. 1 in Las Vegas.

Agreed for the most part, but our participation in the Gold Cup this year can mean anything from hosting a packed stadium for the USMNT or Mexico to hosting dozens to witness Suriname vs. Guadeloupe (an actual possibility depending on prelim matches).

It's a win either way, but I hear you. I think any international competition would be well attended due to the novelty of it at the moment, especially as things open up more over time. People will just want to go to a game.

U.S. Women’s National Team to play the first-ever match at Q2 Stadium
Quote:
AUSTIN (KXAN) — The first-ever match at Q2 Stadium won’t involve Austin FC, but rather the United States Women’s National Team.

The reigning FIFA Women’s World Cup champs will play Nigeria in an exhibition match at 8 p.m. June 16 to debut the stadium with world-class soccer. The match will be nationally televised on ESPN2.

This stadium is going to be huge for Austin in so many ways.

This is so cool! Great national (and international) recognition for Austin and Q2 stadium! Q2 Stadium, along with the new Moody Center, Moody Amphitheater, upgraded DKR stadium, upgraded Bass Concert Hall, and upgraded Long Center - Austin is going to have world-class performing arts and sports venues.

I hope everyone has some patience as they work though the traffic plan for games. It'll take a few before they figure out what works best.
