Interesting. Always thought the tradition was based on last structural beam/final roofing piece in the frame rather than the core.

I never noticed how large those floor heights are. What are those 15-16 ft. Floors?

13'2'' slab heights

9’6” finished ceilings heights

^ Yes - I'm not sure if others had picked up on this - this tower was VE'd down to 9'6" finished floor-to-ceiling from the previously 'advertised' 10'.....so, this tower has completely average floor-to-floor heights for modern new office construction in downtown Chicago

(Thus, see my earlier post about the 568' height figure needing a shave....)

Does slab height refer to the distance between slabs? Or does it include one of the slabs? i.e. from top of slab to top of next slab.

Follow up question - is it normal for the mechanicals to take up almost 4'?

I've always understood it as distance between slabs, since height from slab top to slab top would be somewhat irrelevant in regards to the build-out process. 4' is on the higher end for above-ceiling space in new construction. Though, it is always nice down the road when you have a big cavity to work in.

4/11/17, from across the street. I believe the floor above this one is two levels from deck to deck, at least the Southwest corner is. Sweet.
