That is stupid that people can't go in the lobby. I remember years ago going into that lobby and it was amazing.
But really what do they expect someone to do by walking into the lobby and seeing what it looks like. There should be some kind of historical law or something allowing people go enter and see the lobbies of these buildings.

They should even open the old obervation deck

Woolworth's Architecture it's never going to be beaten by any other building, the details both inside and outside of this building are just impressive, from now on it's one of my top 10.

This is seriously the most beautiful building in the entire world, so well done and so artistic. If I lived in NYC Id probably have to go up to it every day and cry at its magnificence.

Yeah, it's too bad they don't give tours. Those photos make you fall in love with the building all over again.

The Woolworth looks like it needs a restoration, it looks like its in pretty rough shape. I cant even imagine though how much a restoration of a building thats this detailed would cost, 40 mil maybe more?

Edit: Sorry didnt see the first page, good to say they are restoring it.

I am a tad upset. Someone I know took a photo from a trip he just took to NYC. He took a photo of Lower Manhattan from Brooklyn. and there is a new high-rise totally blocking the Woolworth from the Brooklyn Bridge view. That is sad that was allowed to happen. A modern box blocking that magnificant building.

Check it out, its really a great building, and if anything should block the view of Woolworth, it would be this one.

To be honest, I think it is out of context with the Woolworth. It is stealing the thunder from the vista, and taking the focus off Woolworth. Just too big and modern for that particular area.
