First massive ties installed after the new crane sections were added.

I'd love to see a time lapse of this project. Presumably the developer, or someone, is doing same? Might not want to release until completion, I suppose.

It would be a 10 year time lapse of 2 floors getting built lol.

Was the expansion request to 94 floors ever formally approved, or is it still a proposal.

Isn't the official approved height 85 floors?

Yesterday - Prepping for the next pour: floor forms complete and rebar underway, and super-column rebar ‘cages” installed.

BloorMan

And... another big pour today.

8 business days floor to floor. Can't ignore that ;-).

Not a cloud in the sky but it’s pouring again. And yes, I know I’m repeating the joke but this One has been the butt of hundreds of jokes… it’s payback time.

The tower will be rising to the left of its crane, seen pointing skyward... eventually covering part of One Bloor East from this angle.

Benito

Wild, dystopian shot (likely yesterday’s rain clouds).

Actually, you have to see it from the perspective of forum users who log in and see this thread being promoted on a daily basis to the top of the Supertall Construction forum. You expect measurable progress with the updates, but instead there are voluminous photo updates every time a single column is poured, or when a couple guys show up on the job site. Throw in some substitute pics of renders which everyone has already seen before as a distraction against the slow construction, patience has waned for many users.

Rebar going down fast on the next floor yesterday morning for a possible pour today. That would 8 days floor to floor turnaround. Great stuff.

Prepping for the first super-column cladding … yay.

Thanks for the update @Maldive. Hard to believe this is going to be 50+m taller than what is next door.

You are most welcome... maybe 81m taller than One Bloor East

This has been fun to watch the past few months. And even more fun to see the cladding start to appear soon.

The bronzey/champagne column and hanger and smokey glass mock-ups were great.

UT

EDITED TO ADD:

Floor to floor in 8 days (again). Great stuff. Gorgeous cloud free sky today... just like the last pour (I'll avoid repeating my "it's not raining but it's pouring joke"... oops.)

Oh man, that curtain wall is very promising.

Made by a Buffalo based company, from what I recall. Strikes me as an odd place for a curtain-wall supplier as the local market in Buffalo for that kind of product is probably... limited. I guess they figure it's a good spot to supply both the NYC and Toronto markets?

Getting into the weeds on the companies and manufacturing facilities behind skyscrapers is interesting to me.. The steel for this building is known to come from a manufacturer in Hamilton, as well. So much more work goes into these buildings than what is seen on site.

Also - construction seems to finally be at a reasonable pace right now. If 8/9 days a floor can be maintained, this could actually top off sometime in 2024.

Technically from Walters in Winona (but no-one knows where that is).
