Speaking of clear glass, that building going up on 290 has the first row of glass up. It's super slick, mostly clear with a faint smokey color and a silver sheen.

There is Sterling Bay's development next door, plus there could be a few more down on Lake:

Omni seems to build to a different standard, real brick included. Are they a long term holder?

The concentration of stuff planned for Fulton mkt is starting to look like Hamburg's new harbour district (good thing, imo)

How much property does Sterling Bay hold in Fulton Market/ West Loop? I only knew about the three on Green, 345 N Morgan & 1200 W Carroll.

Cassidy tire; A slow accumulation of backhoes over the last couple days. The 2 there now showed up a few days apart. Could just be for the metra work that has been happening in the area, but it also looked like there was a utilities crew working out of the building.

^ Harry I hope you've got good photographic records of the Cassidy building. She had a good, unusually long run as an nice industrial building so close to the confluence.

I thought the name of the developer is Onni Group and the name of the building is Onni Grand.

Near North Side neighbors ready to fight 43-story apartment tower plan

"Fifield Cos. wants to construct the 406-unit building on a parking lot at Maple Street and LaSalle Drive, along the west side of the Gold Coast Galleria condominium tower at 111 W. Maple St., according to the condo association."

"Residents believe the proposed 457-foot-tall tower is too ambitious for the size of the site, saying it would block sunlight and air flow, snarl traffic and reduce property values, said Wolfgang Suess, treasurer of the condo board and a spokesman for residents in the 34-story Galleria."

Seems like it would be this thin lot. Any renderings? Seems like it would be a skinny building from the street view at least:

https://www.google.com/maps/@41.9018...7i16384!8i8192

My guess is that it gets chopped down around 10 stories when this is over and ends up being anywhere from 25 to 35 stories instead of 43.
