In many cases the government actually forced the cities to subsidize suburban sprawl. It was actually not very democratic at all to force taxpayers to front the cost on infrastructure development that sucked population out of the cities.

Sorry, those were apparently my posts. I don't know what happened there. I have hundreds, if not thousands of other photos hosted on Dropbox that are embedded on SSP and I've never seen that security warning before.

I got the warning that they were on dropox dot com, with no B.

I saw that warning on this thread too and figured it was a Chrome glitch.

Does the Ren Cen count as a skyline killer for Detroit? Even though it's the tallest building in the city, I've always felt it did more harm than good for the skyline.

I think so... mainly because of its mass and location right on the river, apart from the rest of downtown. It's a kinda cool mega-complex, and if it were located right in the center of downtown... like around Campus Martius park... then it would be a different story for me. Or somewhere more on the northern periphery of downtown.

Or if more towers were built around it, as I suggested upthread.
