I don't believe its forming, but actually a safety screen

I think its a cantilevered platform that allows them to move materials in/out of the floors via the tower crane. Jumping with the screen as floors get added.

Its just laid on its side in that picture I believe the wood part will be horizontal once set on the building.

I could be wrong but I don't think there's any need for formwork that big on the outside of the building. The big columns are formed above the screen...

Correct, the wood part will be horizontal I was just wondering if there is more to it than a safety screen. Perhaps not. Seems a bit overkill to me if it is just a screen. I see them on almost every big building but I always thought there was more to it.

Yes it is safety screen, and it is much more substantial than it appears.

HWS covers the perimeter of the level under construction as well as
the two levels below. As the building rises, the HWS is lifted by crane or by a
hydraulic power unit. The HWS is adaptable to different geometries and
configurations depending on project requirements: straight section, with
working platforms, debris section, with option to lift materials to different
levels, with access stairs, etc.

The HWS is designed to protect workers against harsh weather and prevent
them, or objects, falling from the edge of the slab and also to protect
pedestrians from falling debris.

This is making me nostalgic for 2015, when three towers were all rising at the same time in this area. I got to ride the brown line to and fro, watching each step up slightly every week.

It does a bit, probably bc of the base. I think this is gonna be a really high-end, better-designed version of Essex.

^^Nice shot, keep 'em coming

Yes, WPW is easily one of the best buildings of the 20teens and if this thing is executed on the same level it will be stunning.

Apologies for the weird reflections on the first photo...

Expect a floor per week or more at this point. I've been keeping track, and if they can do this, then we should be topped out this time next year and that would be at the very latest!

On another note I just really can't believe the color they chose for the Apparel Mart is actually worse than what they had before. Its a total chickening out. They should have just left it to match the Merch like it used to. Horrible.

Ugh I hate it. and the original color would look so much better peeking through the canyons between the wolf point trio.

After seeing how great NEMA looks maybe they should have painted it white.

Or as the Rolling Stones said, paint it black.

I dunno... I think it might help it better blend in to the forgettable background. The less noticeable, the better.
