Renderings Reveal Possible New 58-Story Tower At 170 N Green Street, In The West Loop

Today, YIMBY has an exclusive first look at renderings by Lamar Johnson Collaborative for 170 N Green Street, a 745-foot-tall, 58-story skyscraper proposed at the southern end of Fulton Market in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood.

It was announced this February that Clayco was finalizing plans to buy the 62,000-square-foot site from Bridgford Foods for $60 million and replace the occupying processing plant.

As shown in programming diagrams, the architects shaped the residential portion’s footprint to address both its tenants’ and surroundings’ needs. First, the tower is shaped as a wider rectangle to allow for four corner units and equally desirable views on all sides. Second, the tower is positioned on the Northeast corner of the site, and angled parallel to the street grid in order to further maximize views and minimize its impact on the neighboring residential tower at 170 North Peoria.

The estimated completion date has not been announced and permits have not yet been filed.

Chris, this appears to be fake news.

these are not actual developer-backed proposals.

as such, they do not warrant individual threads.
