American cities need more residential highrises so their skylines can look bigger.

This one is an oldie. Most of Lakeshore East isn't built. Neither is Trump Tower. I'd love to see the city from this distance and at this angle... maybe position a little farther to the south to get the South Loop portion of the skyline south of Grant Park in.

So weird with Chicago that in skyline shots if you're not familiar with the city it seems like the skyline is so linear like all the buildings are just lined up along the lake, but in aerials it's not at all.

Taken Sunday with a drone.

Austin's Driskill Hotel (1886) at the corner of East 6th Street and Brazos Street. The building behind it on the left, the Littlefield Building, is Austin's 2nd steel skyscraper. It was built in 1912.

It is old. I remember finding this on the Internet may 9-10 years ago. Nonetheless, I really doubt a 2015 version of this shot would look drastically different. How much impact can a dozen or so buildings really have from this distance?

Also, regarding whoever just mentioned Chicago's skyline... It IS very linear. It has a large, central bulge, but it is otherwise stetch along the lake front.
This is also over 10 years old and has been posted, but it really illustrate how linear the stretch of tall buildings is along the lake.

Obviously I was referring to what you call the "central bulge" mainly the loop and near north side that you see in 99% of Chicago skyline pictures. Not the Gold Coast.

A glimpse at the Miami's highrise suburbia of Aventura/Sunny Isles Beach (the top left of the image in the previous post). Beautiful and maddening at the same time.

Porsche Design Tower in distance u/c. Excellent shots.

Brickell City Centre is adding so much density to the neighborhood in the 1st shot. Lots of cranes!
