Shows a 5 floor atrium for 350 Morgan. Very cool!

Therefore, why would Google pick this building when there's excellent inventory being built or coming through the pipeline? I'm curious to know if they're growing their biotech division.

1000 Carroll might still be in play. Wasn't there soil testing onsite weeks ago?
Timing is everything... 400 N Aberdeen is sitting there ready to go. If Google needs to staff up, then they need space right now, not in 2 years.

The facade systems are totally different, though - personally, I prefer to Rolex building facade too, but not an apples-to-apples thing, methinks.

Agreed, totally different facade systems. I like both of them, to be honest, and think those atrium spaces are going to be great in both towers. Hard to tell which side that atrium is on for 350 Morgan, though. Is it facing east?

The atrium is facing Google HQ, so it's facing south

The parking garage at 218 E. Grand Ave is being replaced by a highrise with 248 units and two floors of Class A office space.

It's Streeterville. Nice to see though, yes. Will replace a crap looking small parking garage. It's an as of right project and no zoning change is needed. Really hoping it gets built.

248 units by the way.

Hell yes! That garage definitely needed to go. This will really transform that otherwise dead area. Streeterville needs a lot more developments like this

That garage looked like something straight out of the 50s, glad to see it go!

Agree. Not sure what the connection was there. And that is a nice looking Rolex.

Nice to see. I think this may be the site of a 35-40 story Brininstool + Lynch designed proposal from a previous cycle that obviously never got off the ground? Developer was same as behind 550 St Clair condo tower.

^ would of been nice to see something with little more height but otherwise net positive with demo of garage and residential/office development to energize that area a bit more... there is also that large empty lot a block up that hopefully some day will produce a tower in the plus 700 ft range...

I think it makes us all happy to see a surface lot bite the dust. But there's a special place in hell for parking decks.

Ya I cannot believe that's still there, such a prime spot.

I cycle by it like 500+ times a year (back and forth on Ohio & Grand to enter and exit the LFT) and it's such an eyesore.
