Nice shots as usual, Gilly. They should just turn that street by SPS into a full time open dining area.

https://9to5mac.com/2020/10/13/apple-store-valley-fair-santa-clara-opening-soon/

Apparently Apple installed a new graphic outside the new location today saying, "We’ve got something special in store for you. Our grand opening is coming soon."

Not sure if the opening date will coincide the the Apple 12 Pro or Apple 12 (regular) release dates or if this will be before Thanksgiving.

Also last note, the outside area of Valleyfair's expansion is REALLY alive! I'm so glad to see it thriving now with Shake Shack, Bamboo Sushi, Tiffany's and King's (?) Restaurant all now opening! I will post pictures that I took last Sunday in a bit.

Edit: Pics of VF

And at Santana Row, there is a Hot Yoga spot replacing the former Urban Outfitters store

Google unveils portrait of massive downtown San Jose campus:

"San Jose revealed scads of new details about Google’s plans to build a sprawling downtown campus with 7.3 million square feet of office space and 4,000 housing units spread out over more than 80 acres with improvements to public amenities, including 10 parks and the trails that will eventually connect them all."

Sobrato's office tower project would throw shade on downtown San Jose — literally

An office tower project proposed by The Sobrato Organization for San Jose's downtown would have a clear, unavoidable consequence on the neighboring Plaza de Cesar Chavez — more shade.

Sobrato's Market Street Towers would result in a "significant, unavoidable shade and shadow impact" on the plaza, with "no feasible mitigation to reduce" it, according to a draft supplemental environmental impact report for the up-to 20-story project published online earlier this week. More specifically, the proposed office building at 282 S. Market St. would result in:

A 16% increase in shadow cast on Plaza de Cesar Chavez for four morning hours during the summer.
A 19% increase in shadow for three morning hours in the fall/spring.
A 31% increase in shadow for two morning hours in the winter.

...

I don't think this building will be built anytime soon, as Sobrato seems to be very conservative in terms of when to build, I imagine they will want a tenant pre-signed before they start construction. In theory they could try getting one of the companies that has been growing a lot during the pandemic after the pandemic is over, but I don't think they are good at sales as other investors nearby (like Jay Paul).

Looks awesome but I could see NIMBYs comparing it to high-rise public housing.

Is there a busier San Jose discussion going on at SSC? Or are you talking about some other site?

Yes, SSC has an active San Jose group. I tried to bring them over here but they prefer it over there
