Great news, the developers have proposed increasing the height of the second tower to match the first, so we should be getting two 308M supertalls. The change still needs to be approved, but that seems very likely to happen soon.

I agree that China is a good analogue. Not so much because of the area near this supertall, since US cities also have downtowns with a collection of skyscrapers, but because these days there is construction of 30 floor buildings all over the metro in a way you don't get in most countries.

Just out of curiosity, are any skyscrapers under construction (including this one and the Azrieli Spiral Tower) on hold because of the ongoing conflict?

On Building during the War

Good question. Most of the skyscrapers are being built by foreign workers (Chinese, Romanian, Polish) under contract from Israeli construction Companies. Many Israeli Arabs work in construction & that has continued. Palestinian Arabs who had permits to work inside the so-called green line cannot enter Israel at this time. Some Israeli construction workers, under 45, have been called up to the IDF & are serving in the reserves. Most projects are continuing to be worked on and, unless Israel finds herself in a much more destructive war with the Lebanese terrorist Hezbollah group, this is likely to continue. Like Britain during the blitz, Israelis have a strong spirit of togetherness that we continue to display during this tough time.

Is the proposed increase in height for the second tower approved, and are there any updates on the construction progress of the supertalls in Jerusalem?

No definitive news about the height change for the second tower.

Jerusalem won't have any supertalls for the foreseeable future.

What is that building under construction in the background with the tapering upper floors? It's to the right of the Moshe Aviv Tower.

That building is part of the exchange project a 207M building next to a 197M building.
