What a giant collection of shots. Very nice. I remember Honolulu and Waikiki very well (2001 trip). Waikiki beach is very narrow. Much better beaches to be had on the East/Northern Shores of Oahu. Better still on Maui.

Judging from the photos Honolulu has to be one of the most urban places in the U.S.

Didn't go up the Aloha Tower, though? That seems to be the elevator nobody (especially tourists) ever finds. One of my favorite observation decks anywhere. Nearly always alone up there, FREE, benches to relax, a bathroom, and a nice view of the harbor.

I wasn't sure whether it was something tourists could go up in. I didn't see anyone else using the elevator, so I didn't try. But I'm sure the view would have been pretty cool.

Yeah, it's not real easy to find genuinely unfriendly people here, but they seem to have rounded up every grumpy old man in the city to work at the base of the Aloha Tower. Next time!
