Your choice though if you think it’s best not to.

3D scans of one-off architectural elements is a pretty great idea in general. High-fidelity 3D scanning has gotten [relatively] affordable and portable recently.

Doesn't really matter how intricate the product is. The 3D image can be printed directly into casting wax by some models of 3D printers. I know the Stratasys brand printer from Minnesota does this very well.

I haven't been to North Forge since I did a tour there in 2013, when it still had the dreadful name of AssentWorks[*]. That place is an absolute gem, and is completely underappreciated by your average Winnipeg citizen. I only wish they had day or week passes in addition to the monthly membership.

[*] Yes, AssentWorks, not AscentWorks. To me, the latter has makes way more sense - like growing or ascending business ideea. My pet hypothesis is it was a design-by-committee name, and no one noticed they typoed themselves into a homonym until it was too late. Whatever its origin, North Forge is clearly the superior name and branding.

^Thanks for the pic. Soho flats turned out just like the rendering. Even tho I don't find it particularly attractive, I can appreciate that some effort was put in to give some design flare to what is essentially just a box with balconies. The gradation in tone, subtle red accents, and row of bushes out front give the streetscape some visual interest.

That north part of the exchange is slowly filling in which is pretty cool considering that Logan isn't exactly a desirable street to be near and everything north is pretty industrial. I do hope that the market lands development just south of this enforces a higher quality of design standard tho.

Surprisingly little CPTED built into the design. I'd honestly expect something around there to be a little more fortress-like.
