Went out and about on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Sorry about the fuzzy ones, I took the pics with my cell phone, kinda a spur of the moment thing. Oh and sorry about the issues of the pics not showing up earlier, that is the last time I try to use webshots.
This is the former Guido's I believe it was called located at the NW corner of Michigan and Swan. The entire thing is looks as though its getting re-pointed.
The entire Genesee Gateway property has been sealed with what looks like plywood in the all the windows, fences have been put up and a sidewalk tunnel has been put in place. Looks like work could begin tomorrow although I'm guessing they are going to wait for spring. (again sorry about the fuzzyness)
This is the site of the former park lane restaurant, there was no longer any trace of any structure on site. Sorry I couldn't get closer but there was a lot of traffic and i didn't feel like playing a real life game of frogger.
Newest addition to the corner of grant and Lafayette (which by the way looked like the mall on a saturday, tons of cars and people milling about around Guercio's and this building where Sweetness 7 and what looked like a ballroom dance classroom looked very popular)
Another piece of the Cobblestone District is getting a make-over. This is a small two-story commercial building behind HSBC Arena and behind Savarino's projects on Mississippi Street.
Other than that, per their website "Uniland remains committed to building luxury residences at this location. We have not yet established a groundbreaking date and are not selling condominiums at this time."
Buffalo is a great city. My new uncle just moved here from Buffalo. I have had some good times in Buffalo. My uncle just married my aunt, but we have taken several trips up there to see his family. Buffalo has a lot of character.

Firm unveils Elmwood Village hotel plan
By Sharon Linstedt NEWS BUSINESS REPORTER
A development firm has taken the wraps off a $25 million proposal for an eight-story hotel/condominium complex at the northern gateway to Buffalo’s Elmwood Village.
A group of neighborhood residents were the first of the plans for a 200,000-square-foot development. Chason Affinity Cos., which recently purchased 11 properties at the intersection of Elmwood and Forest avenues, unveiled the plan to them Saturday.
The ambitious development would include a 125-room, four-story boutique hotel; ground-floor retailing; a restaurant; and three levels of condominiums, including a pair of 4,000-plus-square-foot penthouse units.
