This is actually significant and important in my mind because if you didn't care to development this parcel then you wouldn't bother to do these preliminary checks, so this is good!

Any updates?

We are heading into the 4th quarter and I’m wondering if this project is still going forward. I don’t see any mention of it at all on Empire’s website. Anybody have any new intel? IndyAZ?

Maybe they haven't tested the flow of that fire hydrant yet.. like someone brought out the wrong pair of wrenches or something and that's holding up the entire project...

I have not received any replies to my queries the last couple of months to Empire Group. Previously, I was getting steady replies over the past year or so. So, it's been really quiet from them.

I do not think Astra is dead and I think that Empire is slowly tweaking the design and figuring out exactly what they want to build.

Yes. Hopefully, Empire will rename this tower to something better. Phoenix's new tallest should have a more unique name that's not so common IMO.

Do you have the article? I can't find anything in a search. Not sure what the zoning hearing would be for. The height increase has already been approved.

It's the Nov/Dec edition, but only one paragraph "Phoenix could have a new tallest building; the 535-foot Astra Phoenix. The project is on hold pending a zoning hearing. " that's all that is published

I'd be satisfied if someone would simply reno and occupy our current tallest tower. I'm concerned about Class A in downtown Phx... very little positive activity in that space.

What are the odds of this thing actually happening? The more time passes with no progress the more I don't feel good about it.

Higher interest rates with more delayed projects to come.
