Pretty sure we recently saw FAA filings that specify 1388' structure height 1450' elevation, so thats probably where the confusion lies.

The whole city will appear that much bigger every single day. If you can't see it for a couple more months, it will be a couple more months worth of progress than if you could see it right now. Don't fret. All these giant towers will still be there for you after covid, better than ever.

There are people who haven’t been in that area since covid, and the old building was still standing. Imagine the surprise seeing the large base of a completely new building already standing.

Yeah, its from last year, from the DOB. It's where I got this bit, the closest we've seen to anything official....(calling out JPMC again)

I believe that the lighting scheme on this tower at night is going to be beyond stunning.

^It had better be. One of the best midcentury modern office towers in the neighborhood gave her life for this one, it had damn well better be worthy, and I don't mean just in terms of height.

It has great height, but it also has a lot of competition at that height. I hope the lighting of the crown is something that makes people notice.

I suspect that all of the "X" beams on the east and west facades will be illuminated. This building, like 175 Park, is going to be incredible.

I doubt anyone would be able to post that anytime soon. use google earth, the site is a full block, about twice the footprint of 1 Vanderbilt I believe.

This view from a couple pages back is pretty much the entire site (minus sidewalk on Park Ave).

It would be nice if there was a webcam in place to follow progress. But that’s asking a lot, considering we haven’t even gotten a single rendering (which I find insane).

^I'm gonna bet that last image was taken from 277 Park.

Current 270 in it's own wind testing...

Hilarious how short Bear Stearns (aka JPMC/383 Mad) looks next to this guy. I remember when Bear Stearns was an impressive sight going up in an area with nearly all pre-war towers, never would I have imagined they'd build twice as tall next door!

The base construction works are mammoth, even more impressive than 1 Vandy when it was u/c.

The base is about twice the size of Vandy's. Vanderbilt's base isn't particularly large, it's the same as 383 Madison.
