Beautiful and another curvy residential skyscraper to add to the skyline just like the former and current tallest, Las Olas River House and Icon.

Developer Files FAA Permits For 605-Foot-Tall Structure And 670-Foot-Tall Tower Crane In Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale’s new tallest building could soon join the existing crop of skyscrapers in the Downtown area. A November 30 filing with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) shows a review is now in progress for 633 Southeast 3rd Avenue, a 47-story mixed-use high-rise building planned for a 1.7-acre assemblage located between Southeast 6th Court and Southeast 7th Street, in the Rio Vista neighborhood south of the New River. Designed by ODA New York, led by architect and owner Eran Chen, and developed by Brooklyn, NY-based real estate developer Dependable Equities, the proposed sculptural tower is planned to yield 1,099,811 square feet of space, including 830 residential units, 12,798 square feet of commercial space, and a 9-story parking garage for 951 vehicles integrated into the podium. Flynn Engineering is serving as the civil engineer, and Witkin Hults + Partners is the landscape architect. Approval from the FAA could make this building the next tallest building in Fort Lauderdale and the first to reach the 600-foot mark...............

Fort Lauderdale | 633 SE 3rd Avenue | 563FT | 47 Floors

https://www.sun-sentinel.com/local/b...2um-story.html

FORT LAUDERDALE — Downtown Fort Lauderdale has yet another skyscraping tower in the pipeline, and fans say this one will add a touch of drama to a growing skyline.

The building will soar to 563 feet, dwarfing some of its neighbors and setting a new bar as the tallest tower in the city.

That honor currently goes to the 100 Las Olas tower, a 46-story condo downtown that overshadows all others at 499 feet. Last summer, a developer unveiled plans for a tower that would be even taller, at 586 feet. That project, however, is still under review.

The 47-story tower that won commission approval Tuesday night will perch tall and proud at 633 SE Third Avenue, not far from the Broward courthouse and School District headquarters.

New York-based developer Dependable Equities plans to build 830 apartments ranging from 400 square feet to 1,500 square feet. But most of the units, 565 to be exact, will range from 500 to 1,000 square feet.

The project calls for 949 parking spaces and 12,800 square feet of commercial space................

Just checked through permits and I don't see any activity.

But... Ombelle by the same developer is going through permits.

Recently they filed for demolition and a ROW permit for the commercial building on the property. It's ongoing as there's a code violation in place of the demolition company finding "airborne particles" when demoing.

Thanks for checking. Somehow WPB is putting them up, right and left, including office towers.

True WPB does punch above its weight. Dependable equities is just a cover name for Rabsky Group from NYC. They're very reputable so hopefully this project has a chance.

Does Fort Lauderdale have a height limit? If so, what is it?
