I think it's pretty crisp. Very clean and sharp like Essex.

It feels like every time I’m working downtown on the weekdays the weather never cooperates and it is always dreary and grey outside!

Pics from this afternoon 8/12/2019

They appear to be finished pouring or nearly finished pouring the main roof. All that's left is the penthouse.

The pump boom is down - but they are still hoisting buckets of concrete as I type.

Almost there...

Clicking on the image will now pull up the original on imgur:

I caught some wicked colored clouds early this AM:

First look into what the building looks like of the units with lights on at night. I see Refrigerators in these units so the internal build out has begun.

Also, looks like the last floor poured is the one at the 638-6 mark.... leaving the roof level and top of building/crown left.

Note: Interesting differences in heights on some of these floors. like 16' on floor 55? maybe a false ceiling and buffer before the penthouses.

Cheers,
WPWatcher

Really great point. Would a residential project (of this scale) this good have been even conceivable (as in realistic chances to be built) in Chicago 15 or 20 years ago? I have doubts....
That was such a dim period in Chicago architecture, when it was not uncommon to find folks who thought LaGrange was actual design, and a sea of souless beige bunkers was rising in River North....

Love these comments and agree 100%. There are so many trash beige towers in River North.

I generally agree with critiques of bland "blue boxes" but I think in this case River North could use a bit more blue.

I remember 20 years ago Blair Kamin going off about that very thing. Absolutely ripped the situation. That article is probably still available.
