I think the block is fine (I live barely 1 block away), I just don't think people want to live literally right on Broad Street. I don't think Symphony House did great either, so it's not a completely baseless idea.

Yeah, at least one Flyers player lives there - just to show the kind of money some of the residents in The Atlantic have.

Can someone remind me what's going in at street level?

Also, since we're discussing this corner, I'd be curious to hear people's thoughts on The Wilma.

that may have more to do with the fact that people don't necessarily want to live in a building that looks like a bottle of pepto bismol.

This.

It's the ugliest building in Center City. I wouldn't in a million years pay for a unit there.

A construction worker got injured today and firefighters had to rescue him off the 42nd floor.

I actually Like the symphony it reminds me of something they would build in the 1920's, the color isn't that bad either maybe they could have went with a darker color though.

Agree. I don't find the shape too bad. If it were a gray or brown color instead of pink, then it would help A LOT.

I can think of plenty of uglier buildings in Center City.

Plus, who cares what it looks like on the outside? You live INSIDE.

In the 1920s they didn't use pink dryvit.

I assure you we have different taste. It's a suburban product in the city made for boomers leaving tacky suburban McMansions with marble entry foyers and oversized dark wood furniture.

Urbanites would never buy here.

The color should have been anything other then the pink Lmao.

But the building it self has some structure and class to it, at least it isn't just a block with windows.

I said 1920's because it kind of resembles some of the crowns and style that came from the era.

Design critiques aside, I would never want to live on Broad Street purely because of the jackasses racing up and down on their dirtbikes/modded cars in the summer.

I can see that being an issue if you're noise sensitive but its a city cities aren't known for their quietness.

I live in Center City and can deal with the noise. Living right on Broad Street is completely different.

I'm right off of Rose Blvd and its not bad I do agree though the trucks and cars with the modded exhaust is annoying sometimes but I've lived in Delaware as well and trucks/semis with the Jake break is even worse.

Well now The Arthaus will detract from ugliness of it.
They do frame City Hall well.
