I guarantee that will be an iconic location for pictures at the World Trade Center. Just stunning, and will be in between to huge skyscrapers, the shadows on the building and everything will look and be amazing.

That's basically the heart of the mall, but doubles as the main concourse of the PATH station. Maybe they will have some seating on the upper levels, overlooking the concourse. But I can't recall any seating in the original WTC mall/concourse, unless I just overlooked it, which is very possible.

That's Correct!

The 9/11 Memorial moved one step closer to completion this week when the first mound of soil arrived at the World Trade Center site.

Workers began spreading the soil onto the plaza Monday evening, filling in an area between the tower footprints.

A dozen swamp white oak trees will be planted in the dirt at the beginning of September, the first of the more than 400 swamp white oak and sweetgum trees that will eventually fill the plaza. The plaza will ultimately hold 18,000 cubic yards of soil.
Also, there are some excellent photos on the site I linked of the memorial area.

A little irrelevant but why is 6 World Trade Center a label on the site according to Google Maps?

Looks like Google needs to update there map. Tower One is being built on the site of the former WTC #6.

In case anyone was wondering "Swamp White Oak" are beautiful trees despite the swamp in there name, and are very colorful in the fall.

I would have to imagine many, many years. It would only get in the way of construction.

Maybe another way to ask - when will the memorial be open to the public?

I always thought that it would be a good idea to put that gold globe statue back in the center of the plaza, just where it used to be. I think everyone remembers that well.

It's been talked about before. If you were to put the Tobin Plaza sphere back in its original location, it would sit right in the middle of the intersection of Greenwich and Fulton. I'm sure it will make it back to the site in some location.

Already has (the museum itself). But I assume you mean the above ground portion, and unfortunately that one can't be started until they've built more of the transportation hub. Most of the museum sits above the hub, and not the memorial, so they're at the mercy of the construction team working on the hub. They've been working on it for some time now, and you can see some calatrava arches in the earthcam
