That's it! Yeah, what a missed opportunity. It would have been a good representation of 1980s office architecture.

Just looked, I've never noticed the parking lot where that tower would have been. Wow... that is really too bad that didn't happen.

It would be a nice spot to building a tower now.

Hey everyone,
Sorry if this isn't formatted properly but there's a very exciting entry in the City's OHP map about a new proposal for mixed-use development with a 350' tower at the Hemisfair site. It appears this is the residential development we've been waiting for and there is also a good amount of retail on the lower levels/ street level. Some great renderings here!

Oh wow! Thanks for sharing. I think some people will be un-easy with it partially blocking the Tower of Americas. But I like how the design is very similar to the hotel portion.

It's like someone transported 300 Main over to hemisfair. Post Lake Capital Partners (who I guess is behind this, based on the link to the renderings that cwalk provided ) is out of Austin and appears to be a new boutique real estate private equity firm. Their leadership seems to have come from Newmark (or maybe they are still there). Newmark is a huge commercial real estate company.

I'm here for it. Perhaps somewhat generic compared to the hotel, but that's not the end of the world. 300 Main is somewhat generic as well but that doesn't mean it's unattractive. Looking forward to sitting on the river patio of that goofy retail building with a margarita and worshiping the Juan O'Gorman mural.

Edit: Also interesting is the "D5 Proposed Residential" on the map on page 2.

Somehow managed to call this one on the exact site and height lol. I'm here for it. Wish we could move past the 3-400 foot plateau but I'm not sure how many units would be in this. I'd assume is 275-300 given the height? I think they said 550 in total for Hemisfair but don't quote me. My guess is the 300 ft ballpark for the other building but who knows, looks like a significantly skinnier plot.

Nothing special architecturally, but it sure does fill in that gap in the skyline.

It will be right in front of the Alamodome from this view.

Color me shocked... not what I was expecting height wise at all... definitely taller that the original proposal for this site if I remember correctly. Awesome!

But its view will be blocked by 300 Main!

Don't think it will be completely blocked. Happy we are seeing development.

Probably similar to the way old Frost is peeking out from behind new Frost. But with less of a height difference.

That 300 Main is going to swallow up the new Hemisfair tower from this view. I don't think there will be any peaking going on.
