From what I've been able to gather the current building opened in 2001. There was a different McDonalds of a more standard design like the ODB McDonalds before that.

^ Don’t get me started on majority of streets in Philly. There are so many other street paving priorities they should be tackling before allies, IMO

Oh trust me I know. At least we got something finally getting done.

The whole city needs major rehab of all sidewalks & roads in the city. We really need funding for that alone & adding the NYC style speed bumps in neighborhoods & major areas.

Those little speed strips/rubber ones they put up are terrible.

The city has actually dramatically increased street paving (pre-pandemic funding issues) over the last 5 or so years and I think it shows in large parts of greater Center City - they have data that backs that up too.

The Issue to me always seems to be the lack of coordination between various city entities. Streets will come in and pave a road, then 3 months later Water Dep’t will come in and tear a huge trench in the street to update water pipes. And once the cut is made in the new macadam the roads get pretty rapidly degraded - especially if it’s a rough winter.

On my block they repaved, restriped bike lanes and crosswalks - looked beautiful. Then Water came in and regraded all access points to the storm sewers at each corner - cutting up the asphalt and ruining all of the crosswalk painting. Obviously it doesn’t seem that hard to coordinate these things better but that seems to be what you get with our city gov.

^ Fair enough. I’m not seeing it in my area though, largely bc of construction and like you said no coordination between departments.

I did not know this creature was started.
I was secretly hoping they would return to the first proposal

^Yes, I should've been more specific, my pics above are Alterra's Broad and Spring Garden complex -- looks like it should be above ground very soon.

Here is what it will be (in case you forgot):

https://alterraproperty.com/2020/07/...broad-project/

It will have a grocery store, one positive.

Apologies if the developer is on this forum, but I'm really not a fan of that name! Reminds me of the Center City bar.

Powelton Yards --> Ultra Labs at University City

Haven't seen any local news outlets pick up this press release yet, but it only came out this morning. This was first announced a year or two ago but has been completely quiet since. The new rendering looks like the scale of the project has been upped a bit. This is an out-of-town development team, so very much direct competition for tenants looking at 3025 JFK and 3151 Market at SY.
