the last portion of the warehouse at the western end of Channel next to the roundabout is being demolished. sort of finally the end of an era, since I think this is the last bit of the old buildings in MB to go.

can also be seen from Rutter

looking south into Dogpatch, UCSF housing prominent

Third St north from Dogpatch

UCSF Psychiatry site has suddenly gotten quite orderly

substantial digging on Illinois near the arena

looking east through Gene Friend Wy on the UCSF campus toward South St between Uber (left) and the arena

peek at the arena from across UCSF block 23 site

east down 16th, with new section of hospital on right

looking north down Third. the UCSF building on the right has gotten some cladding on its ground level

streetlights going in on new Terry Francois sidewalks

and sidewalks themselves being poured on the west side of TF

Three Corners

UCSF block 23. probably won't need to take it from this vantage much longer, as it grows above its fencing

just the middle Rutter view. looks like they're turning the former temporary childcare site into another parking lot?

they've replanted in the median here, and they've been working on the corner curb ramps around the west end of the Commons, so, I'm afraid to even speculate anymore, but could this be finally signs of soon-ish opening of the connection with the roundabout?

and, even the concrete base of the old warehouse next to Arden has been pulverized

Those colorful buses are 15 new electric shuttles that are the first step toward UCSF converting its entire shuttle fleet to electric. They start regular service today.

what I find really neat about that shot is the juxtaposition with the other type of crane on the other side of the Bay

What a missed opportunity.
Could have been a secondary CBD like Canary Wharf or La Défense.

the Exchange finally looks complete from the outside after the installation of the slate-gray diamond-patterned skin in the middle part of the tall segment

pretty clean sweep for the old warehouse by Arden

the northern of the two buildings is getting its skin. looks like it wrinkled a bit in shipping, not sure how they're gonna straighten that out

Definitely! I've been noticing it throughout all of the construction cranes during the history of Mission Bay.

I've looked at this development a number of times in person and have seen numerous photos (many of them yours). Although it has quite a few nice features, it still looks like a jumbled mess to me.

If the stellar view of downtown had to be blocked on north 280, I also wish it would have been done by a nicer building.

^^^Love that perspective gillynova with the curve of AT&T in the foreground. How'd you get that perspective? Was it from one of the condo towers nearby?

Rutter view, asphalt edition

Three Corners

UCSF Weill Neurosciences building from above

and sidewalk

Third St

new sidewalk on north side of widened Mariposa, between Illinois and 16th

sidewalks on Terry Francois

UCSF housing

as seen from Mariposa Park

UCSF Psychiatry Center

the Exchange. although it is something of a jumble, to me there is enough cohesiveness with the repeated pattern in the two vertical portions and the brick at either end that it holds together, doesn't quite get to 'mess' level. that's not to say I like everything about it

Owens-St-facing sidewalk level

east down 16th St

affordable housing on Third

we’re pushing the projected opening date for Bayfront Park, which is expected to take around 13 months to complete, from the third quarter of 2019 to the first or second quarter of 2020. And once again, that’s not including the park’s future restaurant and restrooms which are expected to take an additional year, at least, to be built.

^^All those 4 and 5 story residential buildings: Such a waste of potential in a city so in need of housing. They could have been 12-15 stories at least.

Agreed. And all the 12-15 story buildings could have been 30-40 stories. All those capped heights make the entire area look like an over-planned hood with a NIMBY cherry on top.

I was hoping to get more out of the Mission Rock development, but that's pretty squat as well. Hopefully, they'll incorporate some unique design elements and materials and the buildings meet the ground well.
