How does that work? They're going to hide 8 stories with 5?

Either I'm blind, or there isnt a Kenect Phoenix forum, so I'm posting these here. Its slowly but surely getting done. I'm definitely looking forward to having this one complete. I hope they stay true to the concept with regards for the landscape on the sidewalk.

I love this damn city.

I know that last picture isnt a development, but it's just crazy to think that the Civic Space park is going to be surrounded by highrises one day. Especially once Central Station and Astra get built. Then who knows what will get built across the street from The Westward Ho. It's an exciting future.

I took my dog to that park twice a day for years. And would think the exact same thing every time!!!

The Kenect form is the Residence Inn/ One Central Park East forum.

With the influx of residential nearby, I REALLY hope Civic Space gains the regular usage it deserves. It’s begging to be downtown’s lawn.

The AE Building could be used so much better than as an event space. A Phoenix Public Market-like restaurant, catering to the breakfast, lunch, and dinner crowds would be fantastic! The shaded area could have the farmer’s market and the stage with live music. The sub-level could be something like a ‘speakeasy’ or have a cocktail bar. A continuous stream of activity would keep the space from becoming a dead zone after the sun sets.

Another new-ish member to the forum. I was a city planner in several local government jurisdictions (none in AZ) over 33 years so I can offer lots of opinions and even some reasonable answers to general questions like 'why do cities not want shade structures built over public sidewalks'.
