Are those giant steel columns around the raker beams disassembled and removed, or are they left in the structure? Based on the wood around the columns, it looks like the former, not the latter.

Taken from Chicago & Orleans looking south, this view is going to be pretty sensational once WPE is completed (see the crane in the middle of the canyon?). It's then going to be absolutely jaw-dropping when SOUTH reaches its peak.

Also when new BoA 800 footer rises...

Honestly those undercuts at the base do nothing to enhance the building and are too 'busy.' I like the overall design but would like it more if the vertical lines followed down to the street or at least framed and glass wall that continued the overall forms.

Removed - Walsh re-uses steel - the entire "bridge" along the river was made with steel beams that had seen at least 2 prior uses as could be seen by the welds, cuts, and patches they arrived with.

Considering the angle it's unlikely you see it down Orleans with WPE blocking it. If you do it'll only be a couple floors thanks to geometry :/

Taking out the "bridge" traffic will soon flow through a "tunnel" from Lower Orleans

Of all the recently finished towers 150 still my favorite but East looks like it might be a contender too!

I think it will be a favorite if the renderings are true to execution, especially the east facing side. I hope now that we're out of the hole it springs up like a wheed.

Awesome shots harry. That last one just shows how big of a growing monster chicago has been in the last 5 years.
