Has there been a change to the design around the front lobby entrance? It looks like they are setting up to pour a huge inverted V over it.

It's definitely changed since the shift the apartments. This image is from 2021:

I see a big inverted V in the rendering. Looks the same to me.

2021 wasn't that long ago, BB. I think this IS a new rendering.

Interesting choice just the same. How much value/cachet does it add? Whatever. Still pretty cool I guess. And still stoked to see this beaut getting built.

Could serve a practical purpose... or might just be a nod to another JAHN design. They tend to share DNA and borrow heavily from one another.

Probably a little bit of both. That's a pretty large spanning slab above the lobby. Could have easily done it with two evenly space columns on either side of the middle placed entry door, but, yea, why not an inverted V.

Sony Center in Berlin (another Jahn design) also has some inverted diagonal bracing visible, though not on the ground level. Likely serves a real structural function to vertically support the weight of the tower.

I like that! But how on earth do they wash the windows on the outward sloping sides?

Looks like something used to join or align rebar, but that’s just a guess. Maybe a system for mounting façade panels?

Yeah, those look like ladder-style rebar spacers. They wouldn't use be using thin plastic for mounting curtain wall panels.

It looks like they just did a soft rebranding from JAHN to JAHN/

I'd bet every example of a diagonal column is now being used as part of their visual branding effort.

Thanks. I first thought they were metal. But the full pic looks more like plastic. Hard to tell with nothing for scale.

Glad this is progressing along after so many delays. The impact on the skyline from Alder will be huge. Love seeing that crane grow!
