Skizzo...Unfortunately I don't. The Raleigh updates seem to be lacking as well. Hopefully someone can increase the activity and updates. I am curious to see what is going on over there.

Demolition is almost complete of the old library and other buildings on this block.

Regarding Raleigh, I get the impressions that things are happening there, but the CBD just doesn’t seem to have a lot of traction like other Sunbelt cities of its size. I thought it might take off like Nashville.

Agreed. Raleigh is a great city but it’s downtown construction/development never quite took off like relatively similarly-sized metros (Charlotte, Nashville, Austin etc)

To be fair to Raleigh, in my opinion it is amongst the Charlottes, Nashvilles, and Austins of the country on a regional/metro level. But the city itself, I would say, is perhaps a tier underneath those, just because it is one of several significant cities within that metro, so the development gets diluted and spread throughout the region far more than it would in those other three in which they are all, by far, the dominant population center and economic engine in their respective metro regions.

It’s great to see huge cities like Columbus, Indy, Milwaukee, and Charlotte grow even bigger. I wonder if these cities will displace NY, LA, and SF as the “major” US cities.

The highrise buildings going up are aesthetically pleasing enough, but I'm most excited about the Central Library. That terrace space looks especially nice with the sloped, curving wall.

Nice to see Dilworth neighborhood getting some height to it. Uptown views from that tower should be great.

The renovations on the historic Carolina Theatre are progressing with hopes of the delayed 400'+ InterContinental Hotel starting in the summer of 2024.

InterContinental Charlotte

It's not clear if this is still the current design of the InterContinental Charlotte.
