In the construction industry top out is often referred to the concrete super structure. Parapet framing ultimately adds height but is not celebrated like topping out the concrete structure

Those floor plates are so small I wouldn’t be surprised if they averaged three floors every two weeks.

Does anybody know who owns the parking lot where DPR Construction has setup their staging area across from the Waterline (in these pics below)? Curious if that will be developed into a tower eventually after the projects around it are completed.

It's the same ownership. They plan to develop it. I don't believe they've completely nailed down the details on when or what it will be yet.

Yes, it's envisioned as a Phase II tower and has been referred to as Block 190 & 99 Red River. Market conditions will dictate the uses. There are some visionary renderings of it somewhere in this thread. It looks like a 700' version of this tower. some of the renderings have it connecting to Waterline over Red River.

I've heard that this will also include an extension to Rainey, connecting it to Cesar Chavez.

Very cool. Thank you guys for the update on that. Would be amazing to see something in the ballpark of a 700-footer there someday as well.

Looks like it will tie into Sabine Street north of Cesar Chavez. Also a possible extension of Red River south, one block west of Rainey, connecting to River Street. That would seem to accommodate a future pedestrian only conversion of Rainey Street.

Last one for a bit. DPR superintendent confronted me, so I am working on getting permission.

I’ll vouch for you! I suppose you were a little bit close there towards the end which might have caused them to think you had ulterior motives. You just have to explain that there’s a small, yet avid group of skyscraper enthusiasts online who obsess over every little detail such as who graffiti’d the new library or whether the newest tower will have an observation deck.

I explained that then some. Reached out to the CEO of Kairoi whom we have many common close connections; and reached out to the superintendent, who probably thinks I am a retard, but I don't think his opinion matters...we only have one common connection and nothing on the caliber of Karori...not to sound pompous, but he rubbed me the wrong way.

Start a petition. However, in the defense of the dude that confronted me, I posed a liability.

6X dug my work, though. And I was on top of their workers. Chapter president of ACG loved it and had my back on that one.

Hopefully they will let you continue to film going forward. Always fun to watch your videos. Out of curiosity, are all those elevator shafts in the core? Must be quite a few.

I would think the super was concerned with the proximity to workers/site. There is enough going on around the jobsite that the trades need to be aware of without the added drone swooping in.

I would suggest you coordinate any close fly by with the project superintendent, so they can alert the trades or give you a better time window when certain activities are or are not happening.
