Hard to say honestly. The article is a little contradictory. It says the tower "is being proposed", and uses phrases like [Dranoff] "hopes" the tower... but also says there is a groundbreaking ceremony. So what is it?

No mention of any commercial/retail space on ground floor. Has that been scrapped? Very unfortunate if so.

Guys...no need for handwringing. This is under construction under the commensense meaning of the word and will be under thre requirements of this site with caisson drilling in a couple weeks per a construction worker I just talked to (the current drill is being used for shoring work). Pics from today (6.11.2018) and see article link on this below the pics. Looks like it is really only condos and amenity space (multifloor) despite the height. Condos $2-10MM and with the height of this building, probably more large ones. Godspeed. The article does not say it, but I imagine there will still be ground floor restaurant or something too but probably not the type of venues it would have been if it had been built as an SLS hotel/condo combo. BEHOLD Arthaus!

Also a neat video to accompany the article.

It certainly looks different to me, but perhaps its just because of the rendering vantage point
I do not think it's any different and Kohn Pederson was the original architect at the outset when the hotel was planned.

Good, your article link confirms 4,200 sq ft of retail space at ground level.

From Dranoff's sites: https://dranoffproperties.com/moving...e-of-the-arts/
https://arthausphila.com/

I have just browsed through. I like this a lot more than the Laurel (except for location). Better layouts and actual walls in addition to floor-to-ceiling windows to showcase amazing views. Philly's best condo! Probably better designed and laid out amenities too.

Exterior wise, if they highlight the edges of the building with LED lighting, it would look great at night time too. Very clean lines for this bldg.

I recall someone named Starke being involved. In fact, there was a big event at the Kimmel center based on his involvement.

edit: Now I got it- he was interior designer. My bad. KPF was always exterior.

For some reason I cannot pull the photos out of this link right now. Can someone do it?

It is actually nice to see this building becoming a reality. I had given up hope on it a while back.

Pretty sure it's just "Arthaus," and not "The Arthaus." You might want to change the thread title to reflect that.

[Consider nit to have been picked. ]

Looks like there's some on the NW corner.

It is the only Arthaus in Philly, so we should be okay with "The Arthaus" as in it is not just "A" or "An" Arthaus. LOL.

It's very exciting, seeing this building that has been declared dead by these forums so many times breaking ground. It's kind of a bummer it won't pass City Hall, though.
