Work has begun on Harwood No. 14, the latest office project by Dallas-based Harwood International.

The 27-story, 360,000-square-foot tower will be located along Hunt Street between N. Harwood Street and Harry Hines Boulevard. Designed by a team featuring Tokyo-based architects Kengo Kuma and Associates and Dallas-based Corgan, the project will include outdoor terraces, multiple pocket parks, a 17,000-square-foot rooftop and sky garden, a fitness center, multi-purpose center, nine levels of parking and 16,000 square feet of ground floor restaurant space, which will expand upon Harwood Hospitality Group’s curated portfolio of concepts

Harwood's projects are so hit or miss. Based on the rendering I'm concerned about what this one will end up looking like.

COLLIN COUNTY, Texas — It's finally happening! Residents in Dallas-Fort Worth, you'll soon be able to shop at H-E-B without having to leave the metroplex.

The Texas-based grocer confirmed Friday that it is bringing two supermarkets to Plano and Frisco. H-E-B will break ground the two new stores this summer. They are scheduled to open in the fall of 2022.

The Frisco store will be located at the northeast corner of Legacy Drive and Main Street. The Plano store will be built at the southwest corner of Preston Road and Spring Creek Parkway, the company said.

^^ I had four or five friends and family members text me when that news came out. They've always enjoyed HEB by us and are all stoked about these two going in near them. They're already making bets on where the next ones land.

There's a pretty good amount of work being done on the land prep.

On Thursday, the company revealed plans for The Field Street Tower, a 38-story, 520,000-square-foot skyscraper. Reaching 600 feet, the project would be the tallest building built in downtown Dallas since the 1980s. The office tower will be located at the southeast corner of Field Street and Woodall Rodgers Freeway, a site that Hillwood has owned for years.

That’s just a placeholder, that’s not the design they’re gonna go with when/if they build it.

I don't know about that. The renderings on the Business Journal look pretty detailed and have a Pickard-Chilton watermark on them, so this looks like a more official design than a placeholder. Subject to change based on lead tennants, but this looks much more baked than a placeholder. And the other renderings show more nuance to the massing than just that angle.

Seriously? DFW doesn't have HEB? I thought they were Texas wide!

There are a handful in the far south DFW satellite towns (and Weatherford).

Also: they aren’t in El Paso, Amarillo, Wichita Falls, Texarkana, Tyler, Sherman-Denison, Gainesville, or Longview.

Much of the Houston area lacks an HEB as well.

Fun fact: they’re in Monterrey.

HEB might be surprised to know that.

The map also doesn't take into account the 9 Joe V's Smart Shops, 2 Mi Tiendas or 1 Central Market locations (HEB Properties) that are around town.

From what I recall - their entry into the Waco area was interesting - they branded all of their Waco metro locations as PLUS! stores and even had a loyalty club exclusive to that area to entice people to come in.

Your map is deceiving because of the shape and size of the location markers relative to the map zoom level.

A google maps search indicates there’s a single HEB location, not counting the other chains, on the east side of the metro between I-610 and Beltway 8 and I-45 (on both sides of town). That’s ~1/6 of the metro area without easy access to an HEB.

And on the south side between I-610 and the beltway there’s only one HEB between 45 and 90. Thats another huge swath. And that one is on beltway 8 itself.
