Sans the Cubs hats, sounds a lot like the ugly fucks I saw when I last visited a pub in London

TexMex is the fucking bomb! It’s just that Tex mex is terrible outside of Texas. And there are some shitty places in Texas but there is just not comparison here or anywhere outside Texas

Huge South Side housing complex hits the market
With 1,675 apartments, Prairie Shores would be the biggest Chicago-area multifamily property to change hands in 12 years.

ALBY GALLUN

Quote:
Six decades after building it, Chicago developer Draper & Kramer plans to sell its Prairie Shores housing complex on the Near South Side, one of the biggest Chicago housing complexes from the controversial urban-renewal era.

Draper & Kramer has hired the Chicago office of HFF to seek a buyer for the five-building rental property, which spans 20 acres along Martin Luther King Drive. With 1,675 apartments, Prairie Shores would be the biggest Chicago-area multifamily property to change hands since the 2007 sale of Presidential Towers, a 2,346-unit complex in the West Loop, according to Real Capital Analytics, a New York-based research firm.

HFF is pitching Prairie Shores as an opportunity for an investor to bet big on an emerging Chicago neighborhood close to Lake Michigan. The property is a few blocks south of McCormick Square, an area around McCormick Place that has attracted new investment and development, and is immediately west of Burnham Lakefront, a massive mixed-use project planned on the site of the former Michael Reese Hospital.

Some pretty big preservation news: 15 buildings are being considered for preliminary landmark recommendation.

642 North Dearborn Street
14 West Erie Street
17 East Erie Street
110 West Grand Avenue
1 East Huron Street
9 East Huron Street
10 East Huron Street
16 West Ontario Street
18 West Ontario Street
212 East Ontario Street
222 East Ontario Street
716 North Rush Street
671 North State Street
42 East Superior Street
44-46 East Superior Street

This could be a sizable step to curbing the unending demolition of charming lowrises in River North and Streeterville.

Awesome!

This would also have the effect of encouraging development of foolish parking lots and gas stations in the area that much more

Excllent news, between that and the West Loop district from a year two ago we've finally started to take a stand in protecting the industrial legacy around downtown.

Should be a good way to keep some of River North's old charm plus the redbrick buildings being repurposed already.

Good to see. Though there is a stretch around Clark and Hubbard I thought would be on the radar.

Rumble boxing gym coming to Gold Coast:

https://therealdeal.com/chicago/2019...o-rumble-more/

Looks like it’s one of those celebrity businesses owned by Sylvester Stallone and Justin Bieber

Thats uh, interesting. I think boxing is an excellent workout, but too bad it's not something different or it's not taking up the entire building.

Isn't that a good thing? I would much rather have 3-4 tenants in the building than just one big gym.

^ Agreed. They are seeking two tenants for the first floor and a restaurant for the top floor

I was saying that because the rendering makes it look like it'll take up the whole building.

I'll be going if I get out of work at the right time. Anyone else attending?

There. Across the street and maybe to the south a bit is what I had in mind for part of a district.
