Sub-districts with more impressive skylines than major cities?

What are some sub-district/neighborhoods with more impressive skylines than a major cities' "downtown" area?

For example, I'd say Atlanta's Buckhead neighborhood has a more impressive skyline than many major city downtowns. Another example would be Brooklyn.

Rosslyn, VA, has a more impressive skyline than DC but because of the Height Act, DC will never have an impressive skyline.

Long Island City, NY is another obvious district that has a skyline that looks like a separate city. In fact if you photograph the skyline from the west looking east many people would have a hard time realizing they are looking at a part of the NYC skyline. And the real kicker is 30 yrs ago it didn't exist.

Midtown Manhattan or Lower Manhattan on their own would be bigger skylines than almost all US cities. Chicago is probably the only true competitor against those sub-districts. Jersey City's skyline would probably rank in the U.S. top 10 - 15 range in its own right. Brooklyn + Queens today is probably a top 10 today, if not a top 5.

Yonge & Eglinton, Humber Bay Shores, and North York Centre in Toronto have bigger skylines than quite a few major cities.

Old European cities in general. Paris La Defense and London Canary Wharf the obvious ones.

If we're just looking at local situations, the Hub once fully built out will be more impressive than the Oakland and San Jose skylines, with a new 250 ft tower, 400 ft tower, 424 ft tower, 437 ft tower, 540 ft tower, and 590 ft tower.

Interesting topic. Europe seems like it should have a number of them, but La Defense went so far beyond downtown Paris, that it has become downtown Paris. I suppose any city with an "old town" has relocated downtown in a similar way.

If half of what's proposed in Burnaby gets built then it will start feeling larger than downtown Vancouver; or be central to the Greater Burnaby Region.

Just a sidenote: highrise areas outside European cities also tend to be ghost towns after work hours (and for most of that they're cooped up inside) -
all the commerce, leisure and nightlife happens in the old city. Thus 'downtown' in Europe tends to mean the lowrise centre still, and the skyscraper districts
will always be 'bigger' in skyline, and almost suburban in location.

The beating heart that's heaving with people at all hours is actually the nondescript swathe around the red x. All the clusters actually demarcate quiet areas of the centre:

the cityscape of the West End:
