I am curious to see the arguments for Manulife vs Calgary buildings, I just don't think people are mature enough to look at it with out bias.

I don`t see your point. There are some nice buildings in Calgary. If I were to pick five, I`d choose Nexen, Petro Can, Canterra, TCPL and maybe the law courts.

In Edmonton, I`d pick ING, CN, Manulife, Bell and Scotia Place.

Edmonton has few nice towers to draw on for candidates, And Calgary`s nice towers are swimming is a sea of shit as well. If you`re purely comparing office towers, Manulife is just as nice visually and physically (mechanical and finish-wise) and has the same type of tenants of the top end towers in Calgary. Any speculation as to if it is`better or worse` than any other double A tower in Alberta is purely subjective.

Enterprise Square's zinc

Is that 'pointy' tower what used to be the IPL tower and was red in color in it's former life? Or, am I thinking about another tower entirely?

Also, is that the old HBC building/new UofA downtown campus beside it? If so I don't like the aluminum clading on it ... much prefered the original sandstone facade

of course it's subjective, that's the beauty of Architecture. And you left Bankers Hall off your list, which would be my #1.

Bankers' hall is okay, I should take fresh look at it next time I'm down... my kitchen window faced those two towers for three years, maybe I just got used to it.

Maybe I spent too much time looking at them while doing the dishes but they seem a bit bland.... Nice towers yes, but not my fave in the city

No. Are you???? OK... fine... Remove the BH roof elements, and then let's talk. Otherwise, pack the attitude.
