Technically, The Woodlands is part of Houston's metro, so it shouldn't really count as a separate one.

Also, forgot to add that "Corpus Christi is 194 miles if you take 135 to sh 123 and then to 181. It's the shortest route. The one that takes you down to San Antonio via i 35 and then to I 37 adds almost 25 miles.

nashville, charlotte, savannah and columbia are all within 250mi, knoxville is close at 214mi. athens' urbanized area is only 143k, surprisingly. if you add in the enrollment of UGA (40k) it's close to the cutoff, lol
Not trying to cheat, but the with the breadth of ATL, you could add these cities.

ZERO for Minneapolis-St Paul. That's one of my biggest complaints about living here...there's nowhere else to go for anything. Madison, Des Moines, Sioux Falls, and Fargo are all within 250 miles; but, of those, only Madison is worth traveling to.

Boston, MA–NH........4,382,009
Worcester, MA–CT........482,085........46 miles
Nashua, NH–MA........242,984........47 miles
Providence, RI–MA........1,285,806........50 miles
Barnstable Town, MA........303,269........69 miles
Springfield, MA–CT........442,145........91 miles
Hartford, CT........977,158........100 miles
Portland, ME........205,356........108 miles
Waterbury, CT........199,317........131 miles
New Haven, CT........561,456........137 miles
Bridgeport–Stamford, CT–NY........916,408........153 miles
Albany–Schenectady, NY........593,142........169 miles
Poughkeepsie–Newburgh, NY........314,766........199 miles by I-84 (183 miles by CT-4)

Intriguingly, Manchester, NH UA is only 163,289, despite being a bigger municipality than Nashua. Much more sprawl reaching Nashua.

Boston City Hall to New York City Hall is 215 miles driving distance (taking the Saw Mill and Henry Hudson Parkways into NYC).

As for my former city of Fairbanks, AK - the largest settlement within 200 miles once you leave the Fairbanks urban area is Delta Junction (95 miles, population 918). Tok, AK is 1,243 people but 202 miles.

Yep, as I mentioned earlier, I believe the twin cities is the largest UA in the nation that pulls a goose egg on this metric.

The biggest UA within 200 driving miles of the twin cities is Rochester, MN with a population of 121,587.

That's a respectable list for Boston.

I don't have the patience or know how to figure it out but Philly has got to be among the best in this regard.
