What would be interesting to be able to see is their progress on the underground portion of the parkade. To say the least, their construction methodology on that portion was unique. Most projects have their parkade structure complete prior to the tower portions but not so with this project. Would be nice to be able to get a good view down into the hole, or simply see if a hole still exists.

Still in the dirt it seems; piles of it. They're crawling in it, while the tower work has been idle. Pictures are a few days old.

Thanks for the great shots, Saskabusher! Especially the overhead ones. Unusual to see a project this far into construction with bare dirt at the bottom of the hole. I still don't know what they plan on doing down there.

A new Moat concept pitched as a security feature?

Thanks, Crisis! Yeah, that's what I saw. Should be another 8 floors on top of the new steel and a top-off, so it should end up with some nice height.

Just to refresh the image and give some perspective to what's developing:

Thanks for re-sharing, this gives some perspective of what is coming out of the ground on the side closest to 25th.

It seems they are building the commercial units and the podium right now, which is nice to see, as I thought they had said previously they weren't building the second tower until the first is complete.

I was under the impression that both would go up but they wouldnt finish the interior of the second tower until the other had been adequetely rented out.

If the parking space is shared between the two towers you at least have to get up to ground level and seal that off before the first tower is finished. I also imagine there may be some common spaces in the podium that may need to be ready for the residents of the first tower.

I like how they use a knockoff of the Subway font for the "sandwich" signage in the rendering.

So the usual system nowadays is, you drive into the parking lot and your plate is scanned. You make your purchases and get a validation from your receipt. You scan it as you leave and as long as you bought enough and stayed within the limit, 1,2 0r 3 hours, your parking is free, or minimal. Hope that's what they're doing here. Then a grocery store or any other business, will succeed.

If you just want to park and go to picnic, then you pay the going rate. There should also be monthly parking rentals. Accommodation is the key. You have to bow to car culture, but also make it worthwhile and fight the suburbs. You shouldn't have to pay just because you shop downtown. If you buy, you benefit, 'cause we all do. How many more folks would shop downtown if they got reimbursed for their astronomical parking fees? C'mon Saskabush! Be progressive! Baydo, make it happen here...if there's space, of course.

Ugly as people say they are, these towers will have a great impact on downtown living. I look forward to them coming online. The core keeps getting better:>) I might even move in

Anyone been by this site recently? I drove past and tried to quickly count the floors and it looks like it is likely around 16 floors of the steal girders so far, with lots of the lower exterior walls/windows being installed, so it appears they are making some decent progress, as slow as it may be overall.

Construction Update August 25, 2023
I drove by the site yesterday, and I was surprised by how much progress Baydo has made.
