Ridiculous how long this is taking.
May keep them relevant.
Eskimos was only the beginning. I'm waiting for the mobs to take down the name of Edmonton, for isn't naming anything with an English name these days surely colonial?

(said the guys who's hearing calls to rename Vancouver )

Back to the Edmonton name change - maybe get the name out now and generate merchandise sales and brand recognition going.

JONES: Edmonton offering to host Women's World Hockey Championship
Only hours after the shocking and gut-wrenching decision of the Nova Scotia government to pull the plug on the IIHF Women’s World Hockey Championship Wednesday, the perception may be about to improve immeasurably

Vancouver is a Dutch name. George was from England but of Dutch heritage. They want to ban his name now. I’m Dutch and am offended. It would be spelled vanCouver in Amsterdam. I’m a van with a small v myself. It will never happen. The citizens of Vancouver would never allow a change of name, well unless it was changed to Newhongkong.

Koskinen was absolutely dreadful tonight, letting in 4 goals on 4 shots. I should point out that his cap hit is $4.5M/yr until 2022, and his contract was Chiarelli's final act of incompetence for the Oilers.

Oilers need a better back up. 4 shots 4 goals...wow. I actually felt bad for the guy.

Up until then he had been doing 'ok'... but he continues to have issues with the first few shots he faces and often the first. I've never seen someone let so many first shots in and that really puts your team into a corner*

Alex Stalock is their 3rd goalie but he hasn't played a game all season. I hope he gets 1 or 2 games.

An amazing evening of hockey. They were so happy. Biggest smile I’ve seen on Connor ever, and for a long time too. I have to admit, I was crying.

That was a special moment for him and a team bonding moment with faces that reminded me a bit of some of the 80s 'I can't believe what is happening' moments.

I cried through all that Stanley Cup stuff too. I was there through it all, and cried for Wayne’s press conference when he left. I must bleed orange and blue. I remember watching the Boston / Oilers finals in 88 in a sports bar in Ukiah California where I was camping at Lake Mendocino. There were only 4 of us oilers fans but making a lot of noise for sure. Such amazing days. We have a lot to be thankful for regarding sports in this city, and only more to come.

LET'S GO OILERS!

Mayor Don Iveson has entered into a friendly playoff wager with the mayor of Winnipeg, Brian Bowman. If Edmonton wins the playoff series against the Jets, Bowman will donate $200 to the Edmonton Food Bank and post a picture in an Oilers jersey (and vice-versa).
