A few years away. YOW is not a base for crew or pilots and AC probably doesn’t see the need to rotate a 788 on a rapid air, deadhead crew, etc. It’s unfortunate but YOW will always be squeezed between Toronto and Montreal.
The irony is YOW-LHR is also within MAX range and could be deployed and easily rotated on Rapidair until traffic rebounds to 788/333 sized traffic levels. Yeah like you said, geography will always be YOW's achilles heel.

I'm not sure what's more difficult to believe that YOW-LHR is gone or that AC think that there's going to somehow be enough traffic to fill 2 daily A330s on YUL-LHR this coming fall...seems pretty delusional.

Speaking of YUL, here's their Q1 traffic:

Quote:
Passenger volumes at YUL totalled 436,000 passengers in the first quarter of 2021, which represents an 89.3% decrease compared with 2020.

It'll take one hell of a growth curve to get traffic to levels to support 2x daily YUL-LHR on AC later this year...let alone the return of BA to YUL.

Chorus subsidiary Voyageur ink a 3 year charter cargo contract with Purolator. Seems to cover the usage of 2 Dash 8 classic freighters. No mention of where they'll be deployed.

At least YEG has KLM who seem fairly committed to serving the market, even going as far as flying a triangle in the dead of winter to get around government restrictions.

Sounds like Canada-bound shipments from the US. Not sure if this replaces Castle Aviation or adds to it, but the Dash 8 is a fair bit larger than what Castle flies for them. "This agreement with Voyageur complements our existing network and enhances our capability to service our cross-border business and customers with high-priority express shipments."

Doesn't go to a casino or all inclusive.
