This will be the new $2,3B Île-aux-Tourtes bridge, linking the West Island to Vaudreuil-Soulanges, on the A-40. 2 km in length and a AADT of 90,000.

^ That bridge always seemed to be under construction for the last 20 years. Glad it is getting the Champlain treatment.

$2.3 billion seems like a lot for that. But I really have no idea what bridge building costs so maybe it's not that crazy of a price tag.

It really only looks like a proper skyline from that angle.
In the last few years there have been a handful of "taller" towers built but it's still quite patchwork downtown New West.

Recent pictures from Giallo, the Pier West development front and centre will be the tallest in the City for quite a while at 180m:

Ottawa-Gatineau's newest pedestrian and cyclist bridge, which is ironically maybe the second oldest bridge in the region (1880) is coming along. Formerly the Prince of Wales Bridge, now the Chief William Commanda Bridge.

Location just west of Downtown, north of Bayview. It crosses on Lemieux Island (Ottawa's historic water treatment plant) and connects to Gatineau's UQO and RapiBus.

Credit River Bridge twinning in Mississauga is moving along - it involves the creation of a second span next to the original 1930's structure, which will then see traffic shifted onto it for a few years as the original structure is rehabilitated.

MTO had originally planned to demolish the existing bridge and replace it, however heritage concerns caused them to keep it.

Upon completion, it will allow for modern shoulders on the bridge and provide space for the addition of an eventual HOV lane for this section of the QEW.

Conversations beginning around replacing the Ironworkers Memorial bridge in BC, which carries highway 1

https://vancouver.citynews.ca/2023/0...nt-bc-transit/

Seems like BC is replacing a major river crossing every 5ish years at this pace.

Shawnigan Lake on Vancouver Island is location of Kinsol Trestle which is one of the highest railway trestles in the world.

The bridge is 44 metres (144 ft) high and 188 metres (617 ft) long, and it was renovated in 2011.

The bridge was originally built in 1920 for trains hauling timber.

I don’t know how to upload a picture but would the abandoned Port Nelson Bridge in Northern Manitoba be considered a Great Canadian bridge that never was

Not sure who these people are, but it's in no way an official proposal from any level of Government. Probably some sort of community effort.

I think this is a simple, cost effective & great concept to "bridge" the 2 communities together.

A new freeway connecting route 148 to the SJAM parkway has more of a chance being built than a pedestrian bridge.

Is the second span going to be a modern deck arch bridge, or something more conventional?

from the most recent photo update by Tim McDonald on Urban Toronto, you can see it's a standard bridge design:
